Subject: Scholarship Details and Criteria      


The Nevada Chapter of the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) is pleased to announce that we are awarding four $1,250 scholarships to Nevada university students.  .

Scholarships shall be merit and career-focus based, and strive to identify individuals that are interested in, or are very likely to pursue a career in Energy Engineering, or a related field.  

The Scholarship Criteria is as follows:

Applicants must have the following qualifications:

  • Nevada High School Graduate
  • Nevada Resident
  • Full-time student, enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours
  • Pursuing a Bachelors of Science.  An Associate’s Degree is not acceptable.
  • Maintained a High School GPA no lower than a 3.5 grade-point average on a 4.0 grade scale
  • Have a minimum College GPA of 3.5 (if applicable).
  • Have declared their major as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other energy-related field

Applicants shall:

  • Complete the AEE Scholarship Application in its entirety, and submit it by the deadline indicated.
  • As part of the application, students shall provide a 500 word essay explaining why they chose to pursue a degree in the Energy Engineering field, and what career path they hope to take after graduating.
  • AEE scholarship recipients must agree to attend the AEE Scholarship Presentation Meeting, and give a short prepared statement to the Chapter Members.
  • Other Items
  • Applicants must attest that the information provided is true and accurate to the best of their knowledge.  Submitting false information on the AEE Scholarship Application constitutes grounds for immediate disqualification from receiving a scholarship.
  • The AEE Nevada Chapter Board of Directors reserves the right to request that the applicant provide a sealed copy of their transcripts, at the applicant’s cost.
