Tour the High Roller at The LINQ
Complimentary Ride / Tour of Site / Q&A Session
The AEE is hosting this tour to give its members a chance to see the latest addition to the Las Vegas’ skyline and to evaluate it as energy managers and conservators. Only in Las Vegas can you see things that are bigger, better and with more pizzazz, so when the chance to tour this feature came up, we couldn’t say no. For a one of a kind feature like this, the energy challenges that were faced in the design and construction process have never been solved quite this way before. For example, in our climate, air conditioned comfort has come to be more than a convenience, it is an expectation that was designed to be 110% reliable and a welcome relief in summer.
Now the largest observation wheel in the world, the High Roller, is Las Vegas’ newest attraction located at The LINQ, an outdoor shopping, dining and entertainment district. From the ground to the top of the tallest cabin, the High Roller tops out at 550 feet, making it the world's tallest observation wheel and it is 107 feet taller than the London Eye.
Up to 40 people fit in each cabin. The large capacity allows for guests to throw private parties in cabins, if booked out in advance. A bar and bartender can be set up for the ride, and full scale weddings inside a cabin are also available.
Each of the 28 total cabins are spacious and easy to walk around in during the ride, with two small benches, if seating is preferred. Seatbelts are not necessary, as each cabin is fully enclosed in 300 square feet of floor-to-ceiling glass. In a tech twist, each cabin features eight monitor screens hosting dynamic video and music shows coordinated with different views and touch points, such as reaching the highest point during the ride.
The wheel moves at the gentle speed of one foot per second.
