STEAMBOAT GEOTHERMAL PLANT
On Friday, October 20, 2017, the Nevada Chapter of the Association of Energy Engineers will host a free field trip to visit the Ormat Steamboat Geothermal Power Plant.
The Steamboat complex, located at the south end of the Truckee Meadows, consists of the six power plants with a combined generating capacity of 73 MW. The electricity generated by the complex is sold to NV Energy under separate long-term power purchase agreements.

It’s best if people try and minimize the number of vehicles prior entering the plant, AEE Nevada will coordinate carpooling from the nearby UNR Redfield Campus with the registrants.
The tour will be limited to 25 people, so RSVP as soon as possible.
